EAGLE DANCE ceremony

Eagle Dance is an irreplaceable ceremonial experience in which our personal and collective prayers are danced to the center “Tree of Life” in the Dance Arbor, that acts as an antenna to spirit as we pray for guidance from the Universe for the coming year.  Drummer singers maintain the heartbeat on a large pow-wow drum during the entire dance and catalyzing energy for the dancers as we dance back and forth to the center tree.  The drum does not stop until we are complete!

We arrive Friday to prepare the ceremonial space. Early Saturday morning we gather to begin our ceremony, a meditative/trance like experience lasting 8-12 hours until sundown. Fasting is recommended and drinking water is optional.  Dancing keeps us in our bodies and out of our head so we can receive “with care and with clarity” messages from Spirit.  Sunday morning after breakfast and a nap, we close with a purification lodge optional to all dancers and dog soldiers. We then return the land and structures to a beauty state.

Eagle Dance allows for manifesting a specific intent for self, the collective, and others; and to bring our beauty and purpose into the world around us. The people of Grandmother Earth need our prayers.  We chose to be alive in this special time and humanity is calling us to participate as we bridge the old world into the new one currently emerging.

Your ceremony actually starts with your commitment and your preparations for the Eagle Dance!  New Dancers need about 2 weeks to prepare a shield, special eagle whistle & plumes, a forked pole, and dance regalia. New Dancers must contact Kelly for preparation instructions and special crafting days at Spirit Canoe Lodge support these preparations. Contact Kelly for more details.
